I've been using The Curly Bird Conditioner and Blue Agave Gel consistently and non-stop since November 2022. I literally don't use anything else every since because these products work so well at hydrating my curls and giving me the hold that I need for a busy work week. Being a mum and working full-time mean that I don't have the time to keep washing and styling my hair several times per week, so this combination is perfect for me. I use these products twice weekly and always have beautifully hydrated and defined curls. These 2 products also work all year round, meaning I don't need to worry about changing products based on the weather. The conditioner is light, yet VERY nourishing. It absorbs well and adds beautiful shine without coating or leaving residues behind. The gel is VERY moisturising, yet very cleverly formulated for extra hold that lasts me several days without any need for refreshing. I purchased this gel after reading a post on Facebook. I bought all the products they suggested. As they said they had mixed it with another gel, I did too.....and I hated it. I didn't give this gel a proper go, I assumed because it was so thin it wouldn't hold well by itself. A few months later I did a wash day prior to a day that i wasn't expecting to go out. I wanted clean hair but didn't want to go all out with product. I just wanted it to be ok enough to chuck up in a messy bun, but not be a frizzy mess. I put on a headscarf, slept on it and the next day pulled my hair out and fluffed it a little. I honestly couldn't believe how well it turned out after using so little product. This gel turned out to have pretty good hold and it makes my hair shine. It is also very light and doesn't weigh down my hair. Overall I'm pretty happy. Now I'm onto my refill.
I have fine hair, so I look for a hard hold gel that doesn't weigh my hair down, and still leaves volume in my hair. This gel is great for that, and you only need the tiniest bit. I have used the Blue Agave Gel for a number of weeks, over the top of a wide variety of styling products, a little water squeezed out, and then a tiny amount of gel smoothed and squished into my hair - a small blob for each section of hair. This results in tight, well defined curls, that hold up well over a few days.. This really is a 'less is more' product, which makes it economical. I've tried to find great hard hold gels for a number of years, both in Australia and internationally, and this gel is fab. Thanks Danika, for your personal advice on technique. It really made the difference.
I've been looking for an Australian made gel to replace one of three difficult to find international products i've been using. I've now tried this gel in a few different combo's now and each time i've had a great result. I've even been able to replace two of the three products with just this one. I still find I need a harder hold gel over the top - but this product is great in my routine and gives great results. I will definitely be changing the other two gels out for this one.
Someone recommended this gel on Facebook and I gave it a try. I didn’t expect it to be the absolute best hair product I’ve ever used! Not drying, amazing hold but not too stiff and dry and smells so beautiful. Going to buy 9000000 refills so I never run out
